Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp 2016
Recently I was honored to be chosen as the winner of the Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp art competition. This was my fourth time to enter a state stamp competition (second time in Ohio), and my first win. It just so happened that I set a couple records with this one, being the youngest artist to win the contest (at the age of 20) since its beginning in 1982, and only the second female. Things couldn’t have gone any better for us! My Dad Matt Clayton ended up with a second place with his entry of a bufflehead, and his painting was chosen for the Ohio Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print for 2016. I’m very thankful to have won and to have enjoyed the opportunities that came along with it. I’m grateful for the ability God has given me and the opportunity to portray the amazing things that He’s created in my work. Also, thanks to all of my family (esp. Mom, Dad, and Sarah) and friends who offered their support, advice and encouragement as I was working on this one. The original image size is 11.5x16 and was completed in oils. Prints are available in several limited editions. Also, for collectors, if you're interested in purchasing the same number as you've had in the past, please contact me to see if it is still available. I also completed a companion piece to this painting that is featured on the PSA stamp card, and have prints of that available as well.
Prints are available! Please CONTACT me for additional information and pricing.
This feather is featured as a printed remarque at the top of my Executive Ohio Duck Stamp prints. The painting is
8x10 completed in oil and is of a secondary feather from a wood duck. There’s only one like it on each wing, truly a
stunning feather! I’m taking orders for the duck stamp prints now, along with a very limited edition of prints of the feather piece, so let me know if you’re interested and I’ll get the information to you as soon as possible!
The original has been SOLD.
